Vacuum extrusion
The VMI-AZ transfermix vacuum extruder (MCTD-VAC) is equipped with an adjustable throttle to negate the disadvantages of standard degassing extruders with a fixed throttle position.The main advantages of the MCTD-VAC extruder are:
- Easy adjustable to each compound by actuating the slit throttle
- Better homogeneity and controlled temperature of the compound
The advantages of using a gear pump in conjunction with a MCTD-VAC Extruder can be given as follows:
- The danger of flooding the de-gassing section due to excessive head pressure is completely eliminated
- Due to the volumetric conveying principle of gear pumps the profiles are extruded with a closer tolerance
- Increased output caused by the fact that the gear pump can build-up pressure by consuming less energy in comparison to extruders
